There are a million places to consider when it comes to Winter Park wedding venues. But I would have to say that Lunch Rock at Winter Park is a favorite of mine! Anthony & Gemariah actually set a record this day. They were only the second wedding in Winter Park history to be moved inside due to rain. But that’s the great thing about Lunch Rock – their indoor option is just as beautiful as the outdoor option!
I spent the morning with Anthony at a nearby condo where he prepared with his groomsmen. Since there are so many wedding venues in Winter Park, let alone a ski resort, the lodging options are numerous! He certainly found one with a gorgeous view. We could see the clouds rolling in as the day progressed, but Anthony just kept saying how he wasn’t worried about the rain. He was just excited to marry Gemariah!
The rain came down so heavily as we got closer to the ceremony that we had to drive up the mountain instead of taking the chairlift. I’m glad we did because we saw a couple moose on the way – how cool! Once we got to the top, guests were arriving via bus and the excitement was palpable.
Anthony & Gemariah said “I do” in a beautiful ceremony. They mixed traditional elements from both of their cultures as well as modern elements that represented them as a couple. I loved that they continued to giggle with each other throughout their ceremony and Anthony couldn’t contain his excitement, jumping down the aisle after they were pronounced husband and wife.
Even though it was pouring, they braved the weather for a few mountain portraits and I’m so glad they did. I tucked an umbrella under my arm and we trekked out into the field to get some beautiful views. After photos, the were announced into their reception and shared a romantic first dance. Gemariah then watched lovingly as Anthony and his mom danced together.
Thank you both for choosing me to help capture such a special day. I wish you a life together that is as beautiful as your wedding venue!
