When we set up this session, I couldn’t believe little (I guess not so little anymore) Oliver was already one! If you haven’t seen them yet, be sure to check out this family’s previous session at Mount Falcon here. Oliver was the perfect little one for their session and this time was no different! He looked just as stylish with his adorable checkered shirt and brown shoes.
We decided to meet at Realm Denver, one of my favorite studios as a family photographer in the Denver area. It boasts two beautiful cyc walls (which allow for a seamless backdrop), multiple roll-away background choices, a comfy couch area, changing (or private breastfeeding) area and much more. Although I love shooting outside, and we all know Denver has a plethora of choices to choose from for outdoor sessions, a studio is the perfect choice when the weather can be unpredictable or you’re looking for a more simple background. As a Denver family photographer, I know that time can be precious with little ones. We actually did a mini-session, which was the perfect amount of time to capture these memories!
Mom and Dad brought one of Oliver’s favorite car toys with for their session, which he had so much fun playing with. They also had the awesome idea to bring a simple “One” prop. Although Oliver didn’t love his prop, we made sure to incorporate it just far enough away! I loved the dynamic this brought to their portraits. We took a few snack breaks and sang lots of songs.
Oliver, happy birthday! Thank you for driving up to the studio to celebrate with me. I can’t wait to see the adventures life takes you on – hopefully with a few less “One” props in the way.
Interested in seeing more of Realm? It’s such a great spot for your next session. Check out Danielle’s branding session here.
