Even though I’m lucky enough to have been a wedding photographer in Denver for quite a few years, I was surprised to find out that I have lived just five minutes down the street from a fantastic venue that I hadn’t shot at before! It’s amazing what’s hiding in plain sight.
I drive by the Wellshire Inn on Colorado Boulevard countless times during the week, but I didn’t realize hidden behind the beautiful brick facade and golf course is a lovely wedding venue. Complete with a gorgeous bridge, plentiful trees and tall grass for photos as well as a spacious courtyard, it’s the perfect place for a celebration.
I am incredibly grateful Danielle of Underexposed Photography asked me to assist her during Emily & Joey’s wedding day. Emily and Joey chose to have a “second photographer” which allows for a more relaxed timeline, more pictures and another helping hand throughout the day.
This couple and their families radiated joy and love throughout the day. This made capturing everything from getting ready to their Avalanche details (peek at the groom’s tie and pocket square colors) a true honor. I especially loved Emily and her Dad together. They shared many emotional moments throughout the day which meant tears behind the camera for me!
I’m excited to share just a few photos of the many photos that I was able to capture during the day. Emily & Joey, thank you for welcoming me on your wedding day. I had so much fun capturing you both, your family and your gorgeous celebration. Cheers to many happy years as Mr & Mrs!
